MarginScan executes entirely inside your local browser. Amazon product prices, ASINs, and estimated net margins are calculated on-the-fly in local memory. We do NOT operate servers or databases that store, track, or inspect your product research or sourcing activities.

1. Single Purpose Description

MarginScan - Amazon FBA Profit & VAT Calculator is a single-purpose utility designed for Amazon marketplace sellers. It calculates real-time net profit margins, Amazon referral fees, FBA fulfilment fees, and UK 20% VAT on fees directly within Amazon product pages to facilitate profitable sourcing decisions.

2. User Data We Collect, Access & Handle

MarginScan strictly adheres to the principle of data minimization. We collect and process only the minimal data strictly necessary to calculate Amazon profit margins and administer free trial activations:

3. Third Parties With Whom Data Is Shared

We share user data only with the trusted third-party service providers listed below, strictly to the extent required to operate core extension features:

MailerLite, Inc. (Email Infrastructure & Trial Lifecycle): Processes user email addresses under a strict Data Processing Agreement (DPA) to deliver 7-day free trial activation confirmations, onboarding tips, and license notifications. MailerLite is GDPR-compliant and does not sell or use your email for independent marketing.
ExtensionPay / Stripe, Inc. (Payments & Licensing): Processes payment transactions and verifies active subscription status securely. MarginScan never handles or stores payment card data.
PostHog, Inc. (Anonymized Reliability Telemetry): Monitors application crashes and UI errors to ensure stability. No personally identifiable information or product sourcing data is ever sent to PostHog.
Cloudflare, Inc. (Edge CDN & API Security): Provides global SSL/TLS edge routing, DDoS protection, and serverless API execution.

4. Data Retention, User Rights & Deletion (GDPR & CCPA)

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), EU GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you retain full rights over your personal data:

Retention Period: We retain your trial email address only for the duration of your trial and active customer relationship, or until you request its deletion.
Right to Erasure / Deletion: You have the right to request immediate and complete deletion of your email address and account records. To request data erasure, send an email to support@layeredlumens3d.uk with the subject "Data Erasure Request", or click the "Unsubscribe" link in any automated email notification. All records will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
Local Data Removal: You can purge all locally stored settings, shipping rates, and cached trial tokens at any time by uninstalling the extension via chrome://extensions or clearing your browser's local storage.

5. Permissions Audit & Justification

activeTab: Granted only when viewing an Amazon product page to read product pricing and dimensions for margin calculation.
storage: Retains local fee presets, target ROI percentages, and trial status locally on your device.
scripting: Injects the margin calculation overlay on Amazon product listings.

Note on Downloads: MarginScan does not request the privileged downloads permission.
